• “Is this killing a sin?” — a question the model does not ask

  Asked point-blank whether a killing is a sin, or a war lawful, the engine refuses. Not out of caution: those predicates are not declared, and the model is not allowed to make them up.

• A traveler already under attack

  A private person intends only to preserve his life. The measure of defence is on the file. The question is whether the defence is licit — not whether the killing is a sin.

• The measure Thomas leaves open

  The same traveler, without the finding that the force is proportionate. The engine does not fill it in. It asks practical judgment.

• A prince whose intention is vicious

  Authority and a just cause are on the file. The intention is not right. The three conditions of q. 40 a. 1 are not jointly satisfied, and the prince is forbidden to wage the war.
